| About our 6 string dulcimer: |
| The 6 string dulcimer built by us and those pictured on our website are designed exclusively by Dan Doty Dulcimers. The need for a dulcimer with more volume was realized by us early in our years of building. We tried several methods toward bringing this about. In the mid-seventies we arrived at doubling each string, this gave the dulcimer a much fuller "voice". We designed a headstock that in-corperated the use of Grover Roto-Matic 14:1 Tuning Machines. (The most highly regarded tuners in the industry) All of this has resulted in a unique dulcimer produced exclusively by Dan Doty Dulcimers. |
